Toyota Event @ Caesars Palace - The Soundtrack

Recorded for for a Toyota sponsored event at Ceasars Palace, Las Vegas. The job required scoring and composing 45 minutes or so of music for various acrobats. This event featured AntiGravity and Cirque like performances like the German Wheel. The producer wanted a Cirque Du Soliel vibe and approach to the music. All the music was composed and played by 712 Media’s Frank Briggs with the addition of guitarist Michael Hakes (RIP). Frank also mixed and mastered the project.

There was a 3 week timeline to deliver a finished mastered CD for the acrobats to perform to. Each piece was approved over the phone. The initial vibe was determined by watching videos of previous performances. The CD was delivered on time with a couple additional edits (time extending and cutting) to match the performance.

We have worked with Christopher Harrison’s AntiGravity troupe on various corporate events. Always mind blowing and always a pleasure. You may have seen AntiGravity on this year’s Grammy Awards they created and directed Pink’s incredible sling performance.

Lunesta - The Soundtrack

Recorded for Sepracor as a room drop for their 2,000 plus sales staff that attended the Lunesta Launch at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Frank Briggs served as music director, contractor, drummer, band leader and composer for this multimillion dollar event. Frank’s band was renamed “The Insomniacs” and served as the house band for all the acts and speakers.. very fun. The CD was recorded, mixed and mastered at 712 Media.

"H20" is a radio drama written in homage to the American radio programs of the 30's and 40's, but with a contemporary nod to Environmental concerns. An adventure thriller, "H20" is set 400 years in the future, at a time when there is no more drinakable water left on Earth. Mindless human consumption has rendered the world a barren and sterile place, with people crowded into increasingly totalitarian urban centers. The oceans have been rendered uninhabitable to any living thing, humans must don Anti-AUV suits before they step outside into sunlight and a long, warm bath or a drink of fresh water are luxuries spoken of wistfully only by your great grand parents.

The world population, standing at almost 20 billion people, survive on "Hydro Bars", engineered foodstuff and prayers that the C.D.S.D. (the Central Department for Sustainable Development) will find a way to make the clouds rain again. The only source of fresh water left on Earth is the Antarctic Ice Shelf and it is rapidly melting away. Four independent scientists believe that they might have the answer to Cloud Reseeding, but they find that their research is mysteriously sabotaged and their lives threatened.

In a desperate bid for freedom and salvation, they flee over dangerous waters to Antarctica, determined to find The Answer. Will our heroes escape the corrupt Quadrilateral Commission and bring water again to a parched planet? Or will the Agents of Evil triumph in their plot to enslave the Earth?

With a background in theatre, film and television, Melonie is a screenwriter, radio play author, journalist, reporter and all-round "pen for hire." Her radio drama "H20" is available at the Public Radio Exchange (www.prx.org), the California Water Impact Network (www.c-win.org) and on this website. In 2008, she was recognized by the California Newspaper Publishers Association for her breaking news reporting with The Malibu Times on the devastating wildfires of the previous fall.

Melonie has written for a number of Los Angeles area newspapers and is a regular contributor to southland style magazines. Having directed a theatre company in France (Brava Productions), she learned to handle all aspects of promotion, from copywriting for ads to creative ways to "pull in" new customers. Brava Productions' short film "The Chewing Gum & Mrs. Andrews" was recognized at the Hawaii International Film Festival as best comedic short film.

But her most accomplished productions are three beautiful children - Tiffany, Chantilly and Dutch.

Melonie recently sold her first screenplay, which is going into production shortly in France.

Melonie is also an accomplished Voice Over actor. We are very proud and fortunate to have her as part of the 712 Media team.

Bob Magruder is a Dallas-based actor of radio, stage, TV, films,  documentaries, commercials and talking books.  Bob has performed over 15,000 radio and TV commercials,  a CBS children's series, 50 something stage plays  and a PBS Mini Series.

Jenny and Michael Wedding Highlights

Jenny and Michael were married at the Sunset Restaurant in Malibu. Their ceremony took place on the beach and featured flip flops and umbrellas for the guests. I've know Jenny's mom Gail for a number of years now and it was really special seeing your friends kids getting married. Jenny's sister Kari will be getting married in 2010 and we'll have the pleasure of shooting her wedding and seeing the family again. Jenny and Michael's wedding will be featured in an upcoming issue of "The Knot" magazine.

We are really happy to have Robert and Reel Life Pictures as part of our talent force and you will be too.
